Sri Lanka users get Google doodle for Independence Day

Google has helped users in sri Lanka celebrate the country's Independence Day on 2013 with a 'Google Doodle' on its homepage with a stylized lion and three colours found in the national flag. Google Doodles are used to commemorate special events or people briefly replace its familiar logo with a different one which is hot linked to search result usually on Wikipedia.

Sri Lanka's independence day marks the end of British colonial rule on February 04, 1948 and the start of a path to self-determination.

The doodle is visible on the google.lk home page worldwide and google.com pages viewed in Sri Lanka.
