Beauty trend The X Factor hairdresser reveals why plaits are the big trend for 2013

Step away from the straightening irons as it’s plaits we should be wearing next season, according to The X Factor hairdresser.

Jamie Stevens says plaits are a quick and easy way to jazz up a simple hairstyle and the trend is set to be huge in SS13.

“They’re great as it’s an easy way to jazz up a hairstyle and they’re so versatile with so many different types of textures and placement that can look young, edgy, classic or romantic.”

A plait can be worn on its own or added to another hairstyle to create a one-of-a-kind look.

“The best thing is that plaiting now is all about looking undone, so you don’t have to worry about making it look too perfect and are an easy way to change up your style from day to evening”.
